Arctic Pulse Producers Network gathered the Arctic music field in Oulu
From 26 to 28 February 2026, Arctic Pulse brought producers, organisers and music professionals to Oulu for three days of discussions, live music and cross-border exchange under the theme The Future of Arctic Music. Developed together with Oulu2026 and Music x Media, the meeting connected people working across northern Finland, Sweden and Norway.
The programme combined Future Design workshops, keynote talks, networking and live performances across the city. It also created a bridge between the Arctic Pulse Songwriting Camp in Hailuoto and the professional meeting in Oulu, giving emerging creators a chance to present their work in a wider industry context. Public programme highlights included Junna, Kaipu, Ylva Haru, Katarina Barruk and hakosalo_tuohino, with the final day linking the meeting to Frozen People festival in Nallikari.
What made the Oulu edition important was the way it brought conversation and live music into the same shared space. New connections were created between organisers, producers and artists from different parts of the North, while the programme also gave visibility to Sámi, Kven and other northern artistic perspectives. That combination of collaboration, visibility and artistic exchange is at the heart of Arctic Pulse.
The gathering was carried out within Arctic Pulse in collaboration with City Of Oulu, Norrbottensmusiken, Novia, Norrlandsoperan, Nordnorsk Jazzsenter, Musikk i Nordland and Scene Nord, with support from Interreg Aurora, Nordland fylkeskommune,Troms fylkeskommune, Luleå Kommun, Region Norrbotten, Umeå Kommun, Region Västerbotten and Lapin Liitto
