From first ideas to new music at Electronic Producers Camp 2026
Running alongside Arctic Electronic Music Meetup – AEM 2026, BD Pop’s studios in Luleå became a shared creative space for electronic music producers from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
For three days, the participants worked with analogue synthesisers, drum machines, samplers and other studio equipment. The idea was simple: to give producers time, professional studio access and the right people around them to test ideas and create new music together.
Time and space to experiment
Many electronic music producers in the North work independently and far away from one another. Even when people know of each other’s work, there are not always many opportunities to spend several days making music together.
Electronic Producers Camp created that opportunity.
The participants worked in groups, exchanged methods and musical references, and explored sounds they might not have reached on their own. Access to BD Pop’s studios and equipment opened up new creative possibilities, while the group format encouraged experimentation and quick decisions.
With Hans-Lennart Jonsäll of Joncell Productions as mentor, the producers received both creative guidance and technical support throughout the camp. He helped prepare the studio setups, connect and test equipment, and supported the groups as their ideas developed.
From meeting to making music
AEM brought together DJs, producers, artists, organisers, labels, festivals and other music professionals from across the North. The Producers Camp added a practical, creative dimension to the wider meetup.
Making music together creates a different kind of connection than meeting across a table. The participants had to listen to one another, respond to new ideas and turn different approaches into a shared result.
In that sense, the camp reflected one of the main ambitions behind AEM and Arctic Pulse: not only to introduce people across borders, but to give those new connections a chance to become real collaboration.
Sharing the results
The music created during the camp was presented as part of the AEM 2026 programme.
The producers shared their new material with artists, organisers, labels, festivals and other music professionals gathered in Luleå, who listened and offered feedback.
This brought the creative process out of the studios and into the wider AEM network. It gave the producers a chance to present both their music and the ideas behind it, while opening up new conversations with people from other parts of the electronic music scene.
The result was new music, shared knowledge and connections that can continue beyond the camp. Electronic Producers Camp 2026 showed what can happen when producers who usually work far apart are given time, tools and a studio in common.
Electronic Producers Camp 2026 was organised by Arctic Pulse and Norrbottensmusiken together with BD Pop, in collaboration with Joncell Productions.
